Director of the Biotechnology Department / Project Leader / Scientist (PhD, DSc) A graduate of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology – M.Sc., specialty: molecular biology and biocatalysis; PhD in biological sciences, specialization: immunochemistry at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and habilitation in medical sciences, specialty in biochemistry. She completed a postdoctoral internship at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA in the USA. Expert in the field of eye diseases related to diabetes, aging and genetically determined. Experienced initiator and leader of interdisciplinary scientific projects whose aim is to learn about disease mechanisms and create new therapeutic and diagnostic strategies of application importance.

Several years of experience in conducting research, managing specialist laboratories and cooperation between the academic environment and the biotechnology industry gained in the best world scientific centers – Harvard Medical School, Boston and CWRU, Cleveland in the USA. Scientific achievements of cognitive and application significance supported by many publications and patents, including the development of diagnostic methods for examination of damaged blood vessels. Her scientific achievements include understanding protein modifications in diabetes and aging, determining the role of new genes leading to loss of vision, as well as creating many research models for the creation of gene therapy and regenerative medicine. Building and coordinating a multidisciplinary scientific team that creates breakthrough diagnostic devices for cancer, fungal infections and eye diseases at SDS Optic.
